About Me

I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. I have lived in the Deep South my whole life. In spite of my travels around the country and across the globe, the South is where I call home. I hate the humidity, but I like what the Southeast offers.

I am first and foremost a born-again Christian. I am a fashion and decorating enthusiast, beginner seamstress, avid cook and baker, aspiring photographer "in training," vintage and antique lover, writer, and novice gardener. If there is anything you should know about me is that coffee is an absolute must for my morning routine. I am also a high tea enthusiast.

I am a 2011 graduate of the University of Montevallo where I earned a bachelor of arts in English and a minor in art.

The concept of starting this particular blog was formed due to my interest in combining family history, cooking, fashion, decorating, history, photography, and writing. I have been referred to as an old soul by many people, and I would have to agree. I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't love the old more than the new. My interest in vintage and antique things was instilled in me as a young girl by my midcentury parents. From a young age, I would leaf through stacks of home decorating magazines and tear out all the pages that I was drawn to and was known to save old J.Crew and Anthropologie store catalogs as guides for style inspiration.

I am thankful for people who have inspired me with their love for thrifting, antiquing, and other forms of vintage shopping. It helps me realize that I am not the only person who loves the things of the past.

In my spare time I enjoy experimenting with recipes, sewing, photography, playing piano, ballet, traveling, music, singing, art, being creative, and playing board games.

When I'm not at my job, I can be found doing any of the above mentioned activities, watching a documentary, listening to Spotify or a podcast while I take my daily walks or watching an old movie or tv show like I Love Lucy or anything else that strikes my fancy.
